How to Plan Which SAT Subject Test Dates to Choose First, I would recommend our general guide to choosing SAT test dates. Yes, it's written for the SAT Reasoning Test (SAT I) but the general principles also apply to the SAT subject tests. There is one additional twist for SAT Subject Tests much more than the SAT itself, the best Subject Test dates are strongly determined by when you're learning and forgetting the material. Unlike the SAT Reasoning Test, where you're probably getting better at reasoning year by year, the SAT Subject Test should be taken during or right after when you're studying the highest level of the subject. For example, if your high school does biology sophomoreyear, and you know you won't study biology again, you probably want to take the June exam of biology, or the September exam at latest. Forgetting information is a real problem! Likewise, if you're taking chemistry junior year, but AP Chemistry senior year, you want to time your SAT Chemistry as late as possible senior year (likely the December of your senior year). Therefore, a good rule of thumb is to take the test as close to the end of your most difficult course in that subject! Gun Control Laws Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Gun Control Laws - Essay Example Moreover, increased cases of mass killings in America have raised social distress and concerns. As defined, assault weapons are semi-automatic weapons that incorporate features of military weapons. Assault weapons also entails all forms of â€Å"avotomat kalishnikovs† commonly referred to as â€Å"AK-47 S†. Security experts, scholars, and the general public have called for an instant action from House of Representatives, federal and states government to come up with a practical policy that would completely ban the sale and importation of paramilitary weapons to civilians (Roberto, Meyer, Johnson, & Atkin, 2000). This essay aims at offering a reasonable alternative policy to the current control laws. Policy The existing laws, policies as well as regulations that prohibit sale and misuse of assault weapons have in the recent past turned out to be ineffective and unnecessary in United States of America. The increasing cases of misuses of firearms in the country have as a r esult called for the introduction of instant policy to counter the vice. The current legislation has misleading and incorrect definitions and explanation of the concept of assault rifle. The misleading and confusing definition has resulted to the emergence of serious setbacks in the effort of eliminating assault weapon in public sphere. As a result, to achieve the best outcome from the existing and new policies and regulations, the house of representative should provide a clear definition and explanation of the concept assault weapons. There is need for the house of representative to pass an assault rifle provision that will criminalize the misuse of firearms. The policy should as well impose very severe sanctions to individuals who are found in possession of illegal arms. The house of representative should propose to the federal and state governments to finance the appointment of one assistant United States attorney in each district to prosecute felons who are found to poses assaul t rifles. Moreover, the appointed attorney should as well be given the mandate and responsibility of executing the relevant sanctions to offenders (Hardy, 2002). To counter the misuse of firearms, the federal government and other stakeholders should ensure consistent enforcement of the existing policies and laws specifically in the context of drug-trafficking crimes. The house of representative should as well consider passing a provision that will facilitate the creation of level III prison facilities as well as minimum security in every state. Prison facilities will play an incredibly effective role in ensuring that, criminals who are convicted for illegally possessing and misusing firearms serves their sentence as prescribed by statute. Minimum security will on the other hand help in undertaking comprehensive investigation. In addition, the house of representative should as well create a legal task that will be mandated with the responsibility of exerting informal and formal press ure on the entertainment industry to take immediate measures to minimize the extensive misuse of firearms in their areas of coverage. The entertainment officials should as well be encouraged

ADVERTISEMENT Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

ADVERTISEMENT - Essay Example In marketing theory, certain product brands focus on the tangible benefits of product in order to gain consumer following and interest. Purell sells its products in a very saturated environment where there are many competing brands such as Johnson and Johnson sanitizers and even many store brands from companies such as Wal-Mart and Walgreens Pharmacy. Because there are so many different products available that provide similar benefits, Purell must use interesting and eye-catching promotional advertising to make their product stand out. There is a marketing concept known as differentiation that is an effort to show consumers how one product can be more effective than another when they have very similar function and benefits. Purell is making its product seem more attractive and exciting using cartoons and clever advertising messages as a means of accomplishing this differentiation. What the company is also attempting to do is remind consumers of the importance of making sure that they are healthy and safe. By making the Purell product seem more menacing, it gives consumers a psychologically-based impression that this brand can accomplish more in their lifestyles. By showing germs that are terrified of being anywhere near the product, it makes it so that they will recall this brand name more quickly over competing brands and, ultimately, reach for Purell. This advertisement also reinforces a belief in effectiveness, even though it maintains many benefits similar to competing products, so that buyers are given the impression that this is a superior product. The clever messages being used in the advertisement also create humor with the consumer. It is usually those that are concerned with health and well-being for themselves and their families that will be buying hand sanitizer products. By using cartoon characters that are fearful of the power of Purell, it also creates psychological connections with those who value
